About Cedarfield Plantation

The Cedarfield Plantation neighborhood, known as Cedarfield 1 (C1), is one of several adjoining yet separate neighborhoods located in Huntersville, North Carolina just north of Charlotte.

C1 is a mature wooded neighborhood with nicely landscaped entrances and common areas. At the main entrance of the neighborhood (McCoy Rd/Stratton Farm Rd entrance) there is a large open common area that is used for soccer practice, Easter egg hunts, and many other activities.

Adjacent to this common area is our six lane short course pool at our Swim Club, playground, and a spring fed, catch & release pond that is regularly stocked with fish.

The Torrence Creek Greenway, a beautiful scenic walking and biking trail, runs through the neighborhood and connects to a larger system of walking trails in the area.

Amenities

Poolhouse and Playground

The Swim Club is for all residents of Cedarfield 1. The clubhouse consists of restrooms, a guardroom, and a covered patio. The pool is a six lane short course pool (25 yards) with a shallow area outside of the competition area. There is also a separate gated area with a kiddie pool and covered area.

Both pools underwent complete renovation for the 2019 season with all new fiberglass, gel coat, coping, and tile. In addition, a new handrail was installed in the kiddie pool.

Adjacent to the pool is an enclosed play space suitable for young children to play.

Torrence Creek Greenway

The Torrence Creek Greenway runs 1.4 miles through the north side of Cedarfield parallel to Gilead Rd in Huntersville. The western section of the greenway runs through a meadow featuring many species of wild flowers, where neighbors say they often see deer. The eastern section features unexpected large rock formations in several places, with some rocks as big as school buses. Short sections of the greenway are boardwalks that meander through wetlands.

It’s a great place to hike or ride a bike, especially with children, who will love to see the unusual rock formations. Adults will be surprised how much fun the almost three mile up-and-back trip can be. It is a beautiful addition to our neighborhood and the first in a series of greenways planned for the Huntersville area.

Spring Fed Pond

Many residents enjoy the spring fed pond stocked with fish located directly behind the pool house. The pond is surrounded by a gravel walk path and park benches that make for a nice area for our residents and their families throughout the year.
