2021 SARS-COV-2 (Coronavirus) Addendum

This addendum addresses the measures taken to comply with Federal, State, and Local public health guidelines established to improve the safety of individuals who choose to utilize the pool while public health orders remain in effect. This addendum will remain in force during the entire 2021 pool season as defined at the start of the season regardless of loosened restrictions over time.

The contents of this addendum supersede any rules outlined in the 2021 Pool Rules and may be enforced by law.

North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services – Requirements & Recommendations

In order to comply with the requirements set forth by NCDHHS for Phase 2 of reopening, the following rules are in place:

  • Total capacity for the entire pool area is limited to 70 persons maximum but may be reduced to 50 persons at the lifeguard’s or board’s discretion.
  • Chairs and tables will be spaced out to enable groups to socially distance from each-other.
  • There will be no community pool toys provided.
  • There will be no reserved/private pool parties allowed.
  • A 6′ perimeter will be marked off around the lifeguard stations. No one is permitted to enter this area except the one lifeguard designated for that position.
  • Patrons will be provided sanitizer and a clean cloth to clean pool equipment before/after use should they wish to do so.
  • Anyone exhibiting any signs of being unwell may be asked to leave and must comply.
  • Anyone spreading clear and blatant misinformation about SARS-COV-19/Coronavirus/Covid-19 will be asked to leave. This is defined as confronting or accosting other attendees, lifeguards, board members, or committee members with information that is in direct conflict with current publicized information from the CDC or NCDHHS.

In addition, we are recommending the following but not enforcing:

  • The use of masks in the pool area
    • We appreciate those who wear masks outside of the pool. Please do not wear your mask in the water, it is a suffocation hazard!
  • Social distancing
    • We recommend maintaining at least 6′ separation between social distance units. A “social distance unit” is anyone you have been spending time with on a regular basis throughout 2021 — family, friends, neighbors, etc..
  • Cleaning of equipment
    • Due to a lack of resources we do not have the ability to sanitize surfaces after use. We appreciate patrons sanitizing the things they touch before and after use.

The pool is a privilege for members of Cedarfield 1 HOA and is not a right. Failure to abide by the required restrictions set forth by the Federal, State, and Local authorities will lead to the pool closing for the remainder of the season. This is non-negotiable.

Any disagreements that individuals may have about the restrictions and their enforcement should be brought before the HOA Board of Directors at a subsequent meeting. Disagreements should be backed by facts and use evidence backed by the CDC and NCDHHS, not personal anecdotes or feelings.
